Lars was born on the 17 May 2025, to a first time mum Tindra. She was doing very well cleaning and being attentive to him. However on day two he was coming to over to me looking for food. So I checked the milk supply and she had very little so called the vet to give her some medication to hopefully increase her milk production. He also was given some milk into his tummy by the vet to ensure he stayed strong, however by the evening she was clearly not producing any more and she was less interested in Lars so made the very hard decision if he was to survive I would need to take over the feeding.
I made up a room downstairs that I could sleep with him as he needed feeding every two hrs 24hrs a day. He needed love also as the key ingredient. This was the commitment for the next eight weeks, and he continued to grow and thrive with the help of my dogs, in particular Molly who took him into her heart and provided animal companionship along side human.

Each year, in April and May, our reindeer calves are born. They are magical little bundles of cuteness and wanted to share some pictures with you as they do not visit anyone until they are 18 months old.. Enjoy!
